Celebrate National Burrito Day with these spicy deals

Yay! Today is National Burrito Day

National Burrito Day is upon us and several restaurant chains across the country are making it hard for you to say no to the Mexican delicacy. Buzz60

We know, you've been sleepless in anticipation waiting for National Burrito Day. Well, it's finally here.

Mexican food chains didn't exactly go in the whole enchilada when it came to hot deals, but there's still some ways to save money -- and get a freebie or two -- depending on which one you choose. Still, it's no National Taco Day, held last October, when it comes to giveaways.

The made-up food holiday is held on the first Thursday of April each year.

Here are the deals available at participating locations nationwide April 5:

Chipotle: Not a deal unique to National Burrito Day, but download the chain's new smartphone app and create an account by April 15 and choose from either a free queso or guacamole on a regular-priced entrée item or a free order of a small chips and queso or guacamole with the purchase of a regular-priced entrée item. The offer is for first-time app users and expires April 21. It cannot be used with any other promotions.

Tijuana Flats: Every Thursday at participating locations is "Throwback Thursdaze." Get select burritos, chips and a drink for $5.99.

Moe's Southwest Grill: Burritos are $5 Thursday. Plus, sign up for the chain's Rockin' Rewards program and get free nachos with the purchase of any regular or large drink and a free burrito on your birthday every year. Learn more at www.moes.com/rockin-rewards.

Taco Bell: Coinciding with National Burrito Day, the Mexican-style fast-food chain is expanding the number of $1 items on its dollar menu starting Thursday. But if you live in the San Antonia area, you're in luck.

Through Sunday, the 61 San Antonio-area locations are giving away free bean burritos with a purchase of a large drink.
